Former US president Donald Trump has lavished praise on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, describing him as a “fantastic leader”.

Details: Trump said that Orbán was a “non-controversial figure because he says, ‘This is the way it’s going to be,’ and that’s the end of it,” Trump said.

• Orbán met with Trump in the US state of Florida. The two discussed a “wide range of issues affecting Hungary and the United States, including the paramount importance of strong and secure borders to protect the sovereignty of each nation”, according to a Trump campaign statement.
