“Cuba is in a very bad situation. They have no money. They have no oil. They lived off Venezuelan money and oil, and now none of that will be available,” Trump told journalists on board the presidential plane.

He also urged the island’s authorities to start negotiations with the US.

Against this backdrop, House of Representatives member Carlos Jiménez issued a stark warning to tourists in Cuba.

“Be careful with traveling to communist Cuba. All tourists on the island should leave before it’s too late,” he stated.
