🇺🇳 UN accuses the U.S. of violating international law with attacks on vessels in the Caribbean and Pacific

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, denounced that the United States violates international law by carrying out airstrikes against vessels allegedly linked to drug trafficking in the Caribbean and Pacific, which have left more than 60 dead. “These attacks and their increasing human cost are unacceptable. The United States must put an end to them,” the official stated.

In recent weeks, the Donald Trump administration has intensified its offensive against Latin American cartels, which it considers terrorist groups, generating tensions with Venezuela and Colombia. The Pentagon confirmed the deployment of the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier in the region to reinforce operations started in August.
