The director of primary education at the Ministry of National Education, Mohamed Daifallah, spoke, yesterday in Algiers, the phenomenon of the overload of classes, ensuring that the tutelage made every effort to guarantee the smooth running of the school year and find practical solutions to meet certain challenges on the ground. “It was not a general, but partial and cyclical phenomenon in certain regions,” he said. Finding that the supervision has adopted educational and organizational solutions for years, which adapt to the conditions and possibilities available.
Intervening on the waves of the IT Radio Channel I on the program ” Invited in the morning ”, Mohamed Daifallah revealed that at the national level the number of students per class varied between 27 and 29. “Some regions, he noted, suffer from pressure due to the lack of land available for the construction of new establishments or the distribution of housing that has not been followed by educational equipment. This led us to use practical solutions such as the use of prefabricated classes, the implementation of a full day system in primary and rotating and annexed classes in secondary.
“We are betting on the success of the school year, improving the quality of education and the resolution of the temporary problem of the overload of classes,” he continued. The same official said that the number of schools at the national level amounted to 30,158, including 464 new establishments spread over the three levels. Stressing that primary education occupies the largest share with more than 21,000 schools, followed by average education with more than 6,000 establishments, then secondary education with more than 2,800 high schools, including 60 new.
“The ministry relied on a digital database updated in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior, which includes precise information on more than 1,028,000 new students, as well as the analysis of the results of the first and second quarters in order to determine the number of redoublars and to adjust the needs for educational supervision and budgetary stations,” he added.
Finally, with regard to educational supervision, the guest of the IT Radio channel I recalled the decision of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune to integrate 82,410 contractual teachers in permanent positions. “More than 82,000 teachers have been integrated during the last school year and that all those concerned have received integration decisions,” he said, adding that the ministry has used a temporary contract system to provide vacant positions, while waiting for the organization of a national recruitment competition next December.
