The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has developed a QR code for new high school graduates to easily access the registration platform and to be able to complete the process securely.
In a ministerial circular, Kamel Baddari’s department stated that the measure is part of the introduction of digitalization in universities, which will greatly facilitate things, especially for new graduates who will have to register directly online.
The latter, adds the circular, must use the QR code to access the digital platform, which has also been enriched with the introduction of three new applications, in order to allow future students to register in the desired specialty.
It should be noted that the next school year will see several new features, particularly in the context of the digitalization of the registration process for new high school graduates. The “zero paper” policy will be implemented with the granting of electronic cards.
A digital portal comprising three applications will be launched to support new graduates throughout their studies. These applications include “Tawjihikoum: discover your curriculum”, an orientation tool based on artificial intelligence (AI) as well as an application for simulating academic paths. These innovative tools aim to offer students a clear and personalized vision of their academic future, taking into account their results and aspirations.
The ministry indicated in its circular that the orientation of new students is based on four criteria: the course and the results obtained according to the general average of the baccalaureate or the weighted average calculated first. The wishes expressed by the baccalaureate holder come in second place, followed by the reception capacities of the university establishments and the geographical areas.
The weighted average is the result of calculating the general average of the baccalaureate, affected by a coefficient to which are added the marks obtained in the essential subjects. The ministry has drawn up an indicative table of the admission method in its circular.
Thus, for example, to access the natural and life sciences, geology, health sciences (pharmacy), medical sciences and veterinary sciences courses, the weighted average is calculated according to the general average of the baccalaureate squared + the mark in natural sciences, all divided by three, and this for baccalaureate holders from the experimental sciences and mathematics course. Baccalaureate holders from the technical mathematics course access it by the general average obtained in the baccalaureate.
Access to certain courses such as human and social sciences, law, political sciences, management sciences, commercial sciences, physical and sporting sciences and activities, languages (Arabic, Turkish, Chinese, Russian, Amazigh), arts, is based on the general average obtained in the baccalaureate.
On the other hand, access to science and technology, material sciences, natural and life sciences, mathematics and computer science, geology, health sciences, literature and foreign languages (French, Spanish, German, English, Italian and translation), architecture, urban planning and urban professions, medical and veterinary sciences is based on the weighted average according to the method mentioned in the table developed in the circular, which differs from one sector to another.
If the calculated weighted average of a high school graduate is lower than the minimum required weighted average, he or she is guided according to the general average obtained in the baccalaureate, provided that it is higher than the minimum required weighted average.
