the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

The Ministry of Higher Education announced on Tuesday that more than 40,000 graduates in the 2025 session will benefit from a direct recruitment system after obtaining their diploma. This initiative mainly concerns the sectors of national education and health, and is part of a policy of adequacy between university training and the needs of the labor market.

During a press conference held on Tuesday, the minister said that 97.34% of the baccalaureate holders who started their registration were already oriented, or 331,827 students out of a total of 340,901 registered. He revealed that more than 40,000 of them will be recruited directly at the end of their university career, mainly in the national education and health sectors. According to the Minister, this measure aims to bring university training closer to the real needs of the labor market, while promoting the immediate professional integration of young graduates. It is fully part of the national policy to combat unemployment for young people.

According to the figures communicated, 70.38% of the baccalaureate holders were oriented towards one of their first three choices, a rate which testifies to the efficiency of the orientation system put in place this year. In addition, 65.30% of students opted for scientific and technological sectors, illustrating a marked interest in the disciplines of the future in connection with development, digitization and innovation. The human and social sciences represent 34.70% of inscriptions, showing a diversity of profiles and vocations among new students.

The Minister also stressed that the baccalaureate holders who have obtained the best mentions (very well and excellent) in the 2025 baccalaureate favored the grandes écoles of Sidi Abdallah, specialized in science and technology, as well as medical sectors. This choice, according to him, reflects the confidence of the academic elite in strategic disciplines, in perfect adequacy with the eighth axis of the 2024-2029 presidential program.

In terms of infrastructure and digitalization, the minister insisted on the efforts made to modernize and secure the university environment. He announced that the start of the academic year 2025-2026 will take place in an “intelligent and cybersecuted” environment. In addition, 50 new training offers will be offered, including 14 intended for graduates in the literary sector, with a view to promoting their professional integration and diversifying outlets for all profiles. With this set of measures, the ministry intends to bring the University of the socio-economic world closer to the University of the socio-economic world and offer young graduates concrete professional prospects, in line with the requirements of the national and international job market.

In addition, in an official communication published on Monday evening, the minister said that the results of orientation of the holders of the baccalaureate have been consulted since yesterday at 10 a.m., via the platform Orientation-esi.dz. The first phase of university inscriptions, which took place from July 22 to 26, allowed the new graduates to formulate their choices. The final registrations will take place from August 10 to 15, after confirmation of the retained specialties.

In order to support students throughout this process, an intelligent platform incorporating algorithms and artificial intelligence tools has been deployed. This platform offers personalized orientations according to the results obtained in the baccalaureate, and provides description sheets of the trades and skills associated with each sector.
