The Governor of the Bank of Algeria (BA), Salah Eddine Taleb, received the Executive Director at the Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bahador Bijani, who highlighted Algeria’s solid economic performance, reinforcing his position within this institution, a BA press release indicated the day before yesterday Tuesday.
During their meeting held Monday in Algiers, Mr. Bijani noted “the comfortable economic situation of Algeria as well as the solidity of the indicators displayed particularly in terms of economic recovery, the balance of payments and the position external relations, expressed by the IMF Article IV mission,” according to the press release.
The executive director also noted “the solidity of Algeria’s performance in recent years, which further strengthens its position within the institution,” adds the same source.
Note that Mr. Bijani represents within the IMF Board of Directors the constituency of which Algeria is a member and which she represents to the International Monetary and Financial Committee.
