British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is due to announce, this Sunday, September 21, the official recognition of the Palestinian state. He believes that the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the expansion of Israeli colonies in the West Bank make any solution to two states. This decision comes despite the pressures of Washington, criticisms of the conservative opposition and the appeal of hostage families held by Hamas. Currently, 147 of the 193 UN member states already recognize Palestine. In London, this gesture marks a major diplomatic turning point.
