Terrorist shot dead, seven others arrested
DND review for October 2025:
As part of the fight against terrorism, crime and drug trafficking, the Ministry of Defense indicated that the forces of the National People’s Army (ANP) managed to eliminate a dangerous terrorist, 7 others were arrested and 22 elements of support for armed groups apprehended.
Still and according to the operational report of the ANP for the month of October 2025, the forces of the People’s National Army (ANP) got their hands on five (05) weapons of war and 68 hunting rifles. Detachments of the ANP proceeded, during the various operations, to recover more than 34.54 tonnes of processed kif and 85.16 kg of cocaine. The Ministry of National Defense (MDN) added that 3,380 individuals including 1,447 gold miners and smugglers, 242 drug traffickers and 1,691 illegal immigrants from different nationalities.
Still and in the fight against narcotics, the forces of the National People’s Army (ANP) also managed to recover, during the same operations carried out the previous month, to seize nearly 2,268,320 psychotropic tablets. The same report made public by the MDN indicated that nearly 156,667 liters of fuel, 816 jackhammers, 1,151 generators, 3 metal detectors and 181 vehicles of all types were also seized. The Algerian security forces (all bodies combined) remain the No. 1 sector in the country, which has achieved honorable results and successes in the missions entrusted to this strategic body since independence. During the Black Decade, the security services and at their head the National People’s Army brilliantly succeeded in saving the country which was on the verge of collapse. Thanks to the sacrifices of thousands of senior officers, officers, auxiliaries and troops, the Republic was saved and the serenity and security of the country were assured.
The other security forces, namely the gendarmerie and the police, also managed to control the situation during the years of embers in towns and municipalities.
The creation of several other security forces during this crucial period allowed Algeria to defeat, without any help from anyone, one of the most barbaric terrorisms in the world. During the same period, the communal guards, the Self-Defense Groups (GLD), the Patriots, the former Mujahideen as well as other nationalists contributed alongside the forces of the People’s National Army (ANP) to a large victory against the barbarity of the armed groups.
