A terrorist eliminated and several elements of support for armed groups arrested

As part of the fight against terrorism and crime, the forces of the People’s National Army (ANP) succeeded in eliminating a terrorist and recovered a Kalashnikov-type weapon, ammunition and subversive documents. During the same operations carried out from October 8 to 14, 2025, the same security forces also arrested several individuals suspected of supporting armed groups. During the same period, several drug traffickers were arrested and a quantity of drugs was recovered.
According to a press release from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN) and in the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the National People’s Army carried out, during the period from October 8 to 14, 2025, several operations resulting in quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our armed forces throughout the territory national. As part of the fight against terrorism, detachments of the National People’s Army killed one (1) terrorist and recovered one (1) Kalashnikov-type submachine gun and other effects in the Tébessa military sector in the 5th Military Region.
In the same context, detachments of the National People’s Army arrested (5) elements of support for terrorist groups, in different operations across the national territory.
As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuity with the efforts deployed to counter the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the National People’s Army intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the military regions, (40) drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce (16) quintals and (13) kilograms of kif processed from the borders with Morocco, while (1.61) kilograms of cocaine and (253,816) psychotropic tablets were seized. In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji-Mokhtar, In Salah, Tindouf and In Guezzam, detachments of the National People’s Army arrested (313) individuals and seized (30) vehicles, (357) generators, (264) jackhammers, as well as quantities of mixture of raw gold and stones and equipment used in illicit gold panning operations.
Likewise, (14) other individuals were apprehended and two (2) submachine guns, (3) automatic pistols, one (1) sniper rifle, (11) hunting rifles, (19,625) liters of fuel, as well as (52) quintals of tobacco and (4) tons of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized, during operations distinct.
Furthermore, the coast guards thwarted, on the national coasts, attempts at illegal emigration and rescued (218) individuals aboard artisanal boats, while (374) illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory.
