Une application mobile pour accompagner les pèlerins – Le Jeune Indépendant

The Algerian pilgrimage mission has launched an innovative initiative to facilitate support for Algerian pilgrims during their stay in Mecca. A digital platform accessible via a mobile application has been introduced, intended for guides and training teams of agents from the Algerian pilgrims affairs office.

After the departure of the first contingent of the hajj season, on May 20, this platform, launched by the Algerian mission led by Youcef Baroud, was launched to allow better coordination during the pilgrimage season and cover all aspects of the pilgrims’ stay, including during religious rites and visits. Among the tools implemented, the mobile application stands out by offering a digital platform accessible from mobile phones.

This application is therefore designed for guide and training teams distributed in different areas of Makkah, such as the entrances and exits of the Grand Mosque, Misfalah area, Ajyad, Jumeizah and Ibrahim-El Khalil Street.

Thus, the application, which includes a database of 41,300 pilgrims, has considerably simplified the work of the agents responsible for orienting and guiding lost pilgrims to their places of residence or other destination. Simply enter the pilgrim’s name into the digital platform to obtain all the necessary information, including their first name, last name, passport number or payment number.

To expand the use of this application, pilgrims can also use it to communicate with their relatives and friends staying in the same hotels, thus facilitating exchanges. This functionality responds to the nature of Algerians, keen to maintain their family and social ties.

In addition, the hotels have installed a large smart screen in the lobby, available to pilgrims, allowing them to access information without intervention from specialized teams. Youssef Baroud also highlighted that this application connects to a database encompassing electronic accommodation and travel agencies. Officials make regular updates to improve the accuracy of the platform and reduce the number of lost pilgrims by efficiently guiding them to their destinations.

It should be noted that this technological innovation reflects the Algerian pilgrimage mission’s commitment to providing quality support to pilgrims, while strengthening community ties and integrating the latest technological advances for a more serene and organized pilgrimage experience.
