Starting next week, an awareness campaign for early detection of prostate cancer will be launched at the hospital specializing in renal and urological diseases in the Daksi Abdel Salam district of Constantine, as part of the “Blue November 2025” activities dedicated to men’s health, according to what was declared today, the day before yesterday Sunday, by Dr. Ayman Ben Messaoud, responsible for media relations of the Club of Renal and Urological Surgeons, organizer of this initiative.
According to Dr. Ben Messaoud (assistant professor at the same hospital), this campaign will take place for five days, from November 9 to 13, and will target men over fifty, as well as anyone with a question, regardless of their age, with citizens being received directly in this medical establishment without prior appointment. The same spokesperson explained that the examinations will be free, simple and painless, and will include a clinical examination, blood analysis and medical consultations, with advice for patients in case of suspected infection, as well as awareness sessions for citizens and their companions.
He stressed that this campaign will be supervised by Professor Riyad Saoud, head of the department of renal and urinary surgery and president of the Club of Renal and Urinary Surgeons, with the participation of medical and paramedical staff, and in cooperation with the National Directorate of Health, as well as doctors specializing in oncology from other hospitals.
For his part, Assistant Professor of the University Hospital, Mehdi Mustafa Saker, Secretary General of the club organizing the awareness campaign, confirmed that this health event has seen increasing participation in recent years, with 371 patients examined in November 2023 and 529 patients in November 2024, while the annual number of beneficiaries of the examination exceeded 800 patients, reflecting the success of the initiative to break the barrier of fear and increase health awareness in men.n
