It is from the headquarters of the wilaya that the Wali Djillali Doumi gave, Thursday, the kick -off of a caravan of vehicles loaded with school supplies, for distant municipalities without proximity points of sale.
The launching ceremony took place in the presence of local authorities, the director of trade, the director of education, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the Union of Traders and Artisans. The caravan took the road to the municipalities of Si Mahdjoub, Sebt-Aziz, Souagui and Aïn Boucif.
No less than twelve economic operators, owners of bookstores and paper mills of the wilaya, joined by others from outside, participate in this operation in order to allow families of the remote areas to acquire supplies, school books and clothing items at “competitive prices”.
The initiative thus offers parents and students the opportunity to obtain everything necessary for the start of the school year set for September 21, 2025 by the Ministry of National Education.
Depending on the trade services, the caravan provides various items, satchels, manuals, aprons, clothing, shoes, at prices far lower than those on the market. In order to compensate for the constraints linked to the distribution of textbooks, the Médéa publishing, distribution and documentation center (CEDDP) supports the operation by offering the official manuals and parascular books for sale covering all the educational levels.
At the same time, local markets dedicated to the sale of school supplies have been opened in the major agglomerations of the wilaya, notably in Médéa, Ksar El-Bukhari, Berrouaghia, Beni Slimane, Tablat and Sidi Naamane, as well as a point of sale in the daïra of Guelb Kebir.
To meet the demand and cover the needs of the various municipalities, the back-to-school caravan will continue its trips until September 26, 2025, offering families for mobile sales areas at prices studied, it is said.
