The clinic specializing in orthopedic surgery and functional rehabilitation of victims of work accidents, located in Misserghine (Oran), under the supervision of the National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS), received, on Tuesday, a delegation from the hospital group Italian “San Donato”, with a view to exploring and identifying means of cooperation in the medical field, surgery and training. The deputy general director of CNAS Kheddim Khaled indicated, in a statement to the press on the sidelines of this visit, that the latter comes in the wake of the convention, signed Monday in Algiers with the Italian hospital group, in order to “prepare a joint work program for the medical and surgical care of patients suffering from distortion and curvatures of the spinal column of children. “The distortion and curvature of the spine in children is one of the pathologies that is of great importance at the level of public health services, knowing that subjects affected by this disease are transferred abroad,” explained the same manager, adding that “our current prospective vision is to treat it medically and surgically in Algeria, in collaboration with the Italian group.” Mr. Kheddim noted that the Italian delegation, made up of specialists in orthopedic and cardiac surgery, visited, yesterday Monday, the infant medical-surgical clinic (CMCI) of Bou Ismaïl (Tipasa), also reporting to the CNAS, where it inquired about the preparations to precede a first working visit during which she will have to carry out, at the same clinic, surgical operations for the benefit of around ten children who were to be transferred abroad to be treated .
The same official, on the other hand, declared that “this approach confirms that at the CNAS level, we are working seriously to reduce the number of patients transferred abroad and to transfer, on the ground, the technology between Algerian doctors and specialists from the Italian hospital group. For his part, Mr. James Georges, director of international relations for the Italian hospital group, specified that the visit to this medical structure “takes place as part of the launch of the partnership between the Italian hospital group of San Donato and the CNAS, as well as of Algerian public hospital structures, which is long-term, exceeding ten years.
