An opportunity to strengthen the positioning of Algeria
According to economist Mouloud Khelif, the IATF-2025, will help strengthen the positioning of Algeria as a strategic hub of trade and investment on the continent, in particular through the enhancement of its productive capacities, he told Algiers on Sunday.
Intervening during the information day devoted to the ” challenges and perspectives of the IATF-2025 ”, he stressed that this event will make it possible to clearly position Algeria among the first economies of the continent and to highlight its potential, making it a central hub playing a key role in the boosting of trade and investments in Africa.
This event will also consolidate the role of leader of Algeria in African integration and highlight its contribution to the production of the African Union 2063 agenda, added the expert. The fair will be an opportunity to highlight the industrial, agricultural and energy capacities of Algeria, continued Mr. Khelif, while insisting on the economic benefits expected through in particular commercial and investment opportunities, promising partnerships, promotion of the tourism sector, as well as the valorization of innovative skills in Algerian youth.
In addition, the demonstration will contribute to the operationalization of the ZLECAF, in particular by highlighting its advantages, according to the expert stressing that the IATF will constitute a real platform to remove the obstacles to the free movement of goods, capital and people through the continent, as well as to concretize the African customs union.
The IATF-2025 will also be an opportunity to fuel the debate on the means of strengthening continental economic cooperation, in particular through the harmonization of trade policies. Mr. Khelif considered that this edition is “the most important and most ambitious” since the launch of this event in 2018, having regard to the volume of commercial and investment contracts expected in many sectors, as well as the participation of high -level delegations. The event will also pay particular attention to several central themes, such as innovation, start-ups, as well as the contribution of the African talents of the diaspora to the achievement of the continent’s sustainable development objectives, the expert said. As a reminder, the IATF-2025 is organized by Algeria, in collaboration with the African Export Bank, the Commission of the African Union and the Secretariat of the ZLECAF.
