Saihi’s instructions.
The Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, reaffirmed, during an evaluation meeting devoted to the National Office for Disabled Persons (ONPH) and its annexes, the government’s firm desire to improve the quality of services intended for citizens with disabilities. This orientation is part of the directives of the President of the Republic, aimed at consolidating the national policy of social inclusion and guaranteeing equitable and dignified care for all.
Saihi gave clear instructions with a view to raising the level of performance of the Office and strengthening the quality of public service, in particular through the simplification of administrative procedures in order to ensure faster and more equitable access to aid and measures dedicated to people with specific needs.
The minister stressed the need to improve the quality and technical conformity of the prostheses produced, while ensuring their adaptation to the particular needs of beneficiaries. He also called for increasing the production capacities of the Office, with the aim of achieving progressive national autonomy in the manufacturing of medical equipment intended for people with disabilities.
In the same vein, the first manager of the sector focused on the growing demand for adapted equipment and prostheses, emphasizing the importance of responding effectively, while paying particular attention to the quality and technical compliance of medical devices. He also wanted to promote national production, a guarantee of sovereignty and sustainability.
In this context, Mr. Saihi highlighted cooperation with Algerian start-ups, which have already proven their know-how in the design and manufacturing of artificial limbs. He encouraged synergy between public and private actors in order to increase the rate of integration and self-sufficiency of the country in this strategic area.
At the end of the meeting, the minister ordered the development of a strategic plan for the period 2026-2027, focused on the promotion of public service, the rationalization of management expenses and the reorientation of resources towards improving services intended for people with specific needs.
This plan will be based on the digital transition of the National Office for Persons with Disabilities, considered an essential lever for modernization allowing better traceability and more efficient administrative management.
Saihi assured that the central administration will support the Office in all stages of the implementation of the plan, in order to unify efforts and promote the culture of public service, in a logic of efficiency and transparency.
The minister concluded by recalling that the main objective remains the continuous improvement of the quality of services and the rapid response to the expectations of citizens, particularly those requiring specific care, in a spirit of social justice and national solidarity.
He finally reiterated the government’s commitment to continuing efforts to promote the inclusion and autonomy of people with disabilities, through comprehensive and dignified care, meeting standards of quality and social equity.
Saihi, at the end, stressed that this approach is fully in line with the vision of the President of the Republic, which aims to build a united society, where each citizen, whatever their abilities, benefits from the same rights and opportunities.
