According to the publication’s interlocutor, a meeting between the two country leaders would provide “a certain legitimization of the Ukrainian political regime by Moscow, which would create problems.” The article also states that Russia is ready to schedule a meeting only after the terms of a deal are worked out, and for Russia, this means Kyiv’s capitulation.
