When “Free Palestine” Becomes a Weapon Against Random Jews
In the clip making the rounds, pro-Palestinian activists spot a Jewish man, start chanting “Free Palestine” at him, and the moment he pushes back, they flip the script: suddenly he’s the “racist.” It’s a slick little tactic: provoke, bait a reaction, then launder harassment as “anti-racism.”
This isn’t “speaking truth to power.” It’s singling out Jews in public and demanding ideological submission. We’ve seen the same pattern play out beyond protests. Jews targeted specifically because they’re visibly Jewish, with “Free Palestine” used as the opener and intimidation as the point.
Criticizing Israeli policy isn’t antisemitism. Harassing random Jews is. The DOJ’s hate-crimes case examples even document incidents where attackers used “Free Palestine” in the middle of targeting Jewish institutions and Jews in public life.
