Before rushing to appoint a replacement for Haleva, such a miserable failure of intelligence requires reconsidering the tasks of the Intelligence Division, its working methods, and the qualifications required for whoever will lead it. The Intelligence Division in the Israeli army is today a fractured organization, as its senior officials are busy preparing for investigations and trying to shift responsibility from themselves. On the other hand, the IDF cannot fight with an ineffective intelligence division, and the IDF will have to undergo comprehensive rehabilitation and re-establishment.
