#BREAKING | Germany Deploys Arrow-3 Missile System in Historic European First
Germany is set to officially unveil and deploy the Israeli-supplied Arrow-3 exoatmospheric anti-ballistic missile system this week, marking its inaugural operational use outside Israel, according to The Jerusalem Post.
The $3.5 billion acquisition, approved by the U.S. in 2023, integrates Arrow-3 into Europe’s Sky Shield Initiative amid rising ballistic threats from Russia’s Ukraine war. Developed jointly by Israel Aerospace Industries and Boeing, the system intercepts long-range missiles beyond Earth’s atmosphere at altitudes over 100 km.
Arrow-2/3 has demonstrated proven combat efficacy, intercepting dozens of Iranian ballistic missiles during the April 14 and October 1, 2024, attacks, and hundreds more—including Iran-backed Houthi militia launches from Yemen—across the 2024-2025 Israel-Iran conflict, achieving up to 90% success rates.
