⚠️ UNUSUAL: Mysterious Flying Object Triggers Sirens Near Lebanon Border — IDF Says It Was Likely a Balloon
The Israeli military says a mysterious flying object that triggered air raid sirens Saturday night in Arab al-Aramshe, near the Lebanese border, was likely a balloon or another hot-air-powered device.
Following an extensive investigation, the IDF ruled out a drone or UAV but said it could not determine the object’s origin or purpose. Officials believe it may have been a harmless object that drifted into Israeli airspace.
Israeli Air Force systems tracked the object, while security was temporarily reinforced in nearby communities. Despite searches, the object has not been located.
The IDF also addressed recent false aerial alerts, explaining that distinguishing between drones, birds and other flying objects can be difficult, and that the military takes no chances when a potential threat is detected.
There are no changes to Home Front Command guidelines.
